Has anyone used or seen the new Respironics NeoPAP? What'd you think? Also, anyone using the Vapotherm, what are you doing as far as cleaning, and reprocessing goes? How about protocols?

We are using Vapotherm A LOT, both on neonates and adults. Currently working on a protocol. We clean per manufacturers instructions. It is time consuming, but there really is no other choice.

Check out VTherm.com if you are still cleaning per the manual instructions. Under the "for clinicians" section there is a productivity tools section and it has an alternate cleaning instruction that really simplifies the process. 10 minutes vs. forever.

Has anyone seen any problems or issues related to infections and spread of infections using the Vapotherm system?

We've been using the Vapotherm constantly for the last 8 months and have had no issues. We use the short version of the cleaning process found on the Vtherm WS. This quickly cleans both the wet and dry sides. We do both sides and dry them for a couple of hours so they don't sit around wet and collect bugs. If you have a quick turn around it is not as import to clean the wet side. I know this sounds counterintuitive but there is no direct contact between the wet and dry side and as long as you don't have sitting water you should not grow bugs. BTW we always use sterile water.
