depends! Ussually if the IPPB pressure drops you are looking for two things 1) a leak 2) the patient is sucking in instead of allowing the machine to fill there lungs.

if it is a leak, find it and fix it. if the patient is sucking in because they think it will shut of the machine then you need to do more education with the patient.

If you dial the flow to a high setting and the patient is still creating negative pressure that probably means that they don't need IPPB. We use IPPB almost exclusively in patients with neuromuscular disease.

Change to Ezpap and forget the IPPB.
