We are a large (1000 beds) medical center that converted over to the Praxair grab-n-go system over five years ago. We have an onsite person who stocks all areas daily based on need. There is never a concern to return a tank to it's original location because of purchased regulators, there are never tanks without regulators or vice versa, there isn't a pile of broken regulators somewhere, no more nurse fear of O2 tanks. Nothing but positive results.

GO BUCKS!

The grab-n-go tanks have been true lifesavers for us. The floors no longer horde tanks, hiding them from even themselves, then calling for more when those tanks disappear into the black hole of equipment. No more boxes full of broken regulators that never seem to get fixed. Most importantly, the 02 is there and available for patient use. We have a central area on each floor for the tanks which are stored and (in a perfect world)checked daily by 02 techs, and restocked as needed. Overall, the system has worked out brilliantly.

The other thing about these Grab N Go tanks is that one can take them and practice moving them in ever increasing little circles. As one gets condtioned to do this ever higher up, gaining more control, it would then be perhaps feasible to chain two together such that Super Numchucks could be devised. Now imagine a movie starring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson as two RT's. Osama's guys have taken over the hospital, but they have the Grab N Blow......

At the medium sized hospital where I work, the grabngo's are loved....BUT getting the nurses to actually turn the things off is annoying. But then, whenEVER have nurses learned to turn them off after use?
