We often use Isoflurane for patients intubated with sevre Asthma who have sevre bronchospasms and high Intrinsic PEEP through the ventilator circuit.
We have administered Isoflurane via the Evita 4.
Do you ever see this being used in the USA?
What alternatives do you use.?

Here in SA heliox is more popular, obviously well promoted by BOC - the gas supplier.
Few results yet, certainly not well studied.

Yes we do use Isoflorane gas for severe asthmatics, the best way to administer is through anesthesia machine.
