We are attempting to use a Hope Nebulizer in line with a 7200 ventilator on our status asthmaticus patient and have doubts as to it's efficacy. Please advise if you have any information. All my on line searches have come to a dead end. | ||

Dear Connie, Many therapist choose to use small volume nebulizers inline with vents because of the additional liter flow introduced into the system. If your concern is to how effective the HOPE nebulizer is in this mode of therapy consider the output of the HOPE neb vs a small volume neb. The output of medication on the HOPE is 25 cc per hour wher as a typical neb is 3mls per 10-15 mins or about half what the HOPE generates. Further the HOPE neb provides 64% particles in the respirable range ( far more than a typical nebulizer that spews out medication from about 1 to 20 microns or greater during therapy. Consider the placement of the neb as well. Go to www.bandb-medical.com and click on continuous nebulizers, click HOPE, scrol to the bottom and locate configurations to see how to place the neb inline with a vent. Hope this helps you.
