How is it possible that in this day and age there are only 2 facilities that can handle this combination of needs for patients??? The only ones I know of are the one in Illinois, and the one in Brownsville, TX. I am in NM. Neither one is a feasible option. NM is part of the USA... we are not a third-world country! If anyone knows of any other facility that can handle these two conditions, please let me know. My mother needs to be weened off the trache, and needs dialysis. I am NOT sending her to TX. I would never see her again. Her health would deteriorate dramatically, as Dad and I visit her every day and that's what keeps her going. Who would advocate for her? She can't speak with the trache in there! Please HELP!
