The i Vent ventilator from Versamed offers a feature called Adaptive Flow. The manufacturer says that in a patient without spontaneous breaths the ventilator will use the minimum flow to ventilate the patient. In a patient with spontaneous breaths the ventilator will provide all the flow that the patient wants. Question: Is this feature available in VCV Mode or in PCV mode? If it is available in VCV mode: what happens with the Ti if the flow increases in a patient with spontaneous breaths in order to maintain the set tidal volume? What happens with the peak pressure if the ventilator shortens the Ti in order to provide enough flow to a spontaneously breathing patient in VCV mode? Someone has experience with this feature?
