DOWNS flow generator, anyone still using it? I'm thinking this could be great for recruitment manuevers on the spont breathing patient. If I remember correctly it had a mask and the following CPAP attachments 5,7.5,10,15,20, and 25cmh2o.

GJ, your thinking is correct. I used it a lot about seven years ago for that very purpose. We were using it with a frequency(tid, qid,q4) instead of IPPB. Essentially Ezpap before Ezpap came out. That is the only hospital that I know that still uses them.

I still keep one around, but don't reaaly use it much any more. Instead we use either EZPAP or CPAP treatments (QID), and acheive the same results.
